I have just watched the opening of the olympics. Wow it was so beautifully done. The whole show was amazing. Knowing that China is so advanced in their technology I thought that it would be good, but it exceeded my expectation.
Who ever knew there were so many little countries in this world .. Nauru? Where the frig is that? Now the sad thing is that I sat there for nearly two hours as I wanted to watch South Africa walk in … I watched 132 countries … then I went to quickly do something …. came back and watched the other 100 and something countries … only to realise that I had missed SA. Now they normally do the walk-in alphabetically according to the alphabet that you and I know. This time it was done according to Mandarin alphabet. WTF – my Mandarin must have just slipped my mind!!!
The other thing that I had to laugh about was just how many of the participants walked in whilst talking on their cell. So there you have trained for the last 4 years to make the Olympic team and walking in under the flag of your country and what are you doing ….. talking on the phone. What on earth could have been so important? Maybe they were calling their moms to tell them where they were …. gosh and there was mom who thought little Billy had just gone to movies!!! Talk of missing the moment.
Anyway I am really looking forward to watching all the sport – and seeing our own gorgeous Ryk Neethling in those skin tights swimming pants …… ummmmm … a sight to behold!!
